Meeting friends for a casual dinner near their house found us at Aollo, on Merrick Avenue. Take note, this neighorhood eatery is open 24 hourse a day – something not that easy to find !
The paved, parking lot has two handicapped-accessible spaces (both van accessible), close to the entrance. Steps or a ramp lead to the single door entrance, entryway, and another single door to the restaurant itself.
I found the typical diner decor comforting. Tables and chairs in the dining room are situated for easy maneuvering. There are also booths and counter service.
Our waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful. All of our needs/wants/changes, were cheerfully accommodated. When our food arrived everything was exactly as we had ordered it and quite good. Such a pleasant experience! We will be happy to meet our friends here any time.
A door leads to the restroom area. Another door gets one to either the mens’ or ladies’ room. Each is multi-stall, with a handicapped-accessible stall and baby-changing station.
As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.” Since Apollo does not have a website, call (516) 292-1620 with any questions or concerns.
