Big Daddy's is located at 1 Park Lane, Massapequa. The small parking lot has one accessible space very close to the street-level, single door entrance. On weekends there is valet parking.

Once inside navigation is easy with tile floors and lots of space between tables. There are some booths and a full-height bar.

There is a large, single-occupancy, accessible restroom, as well as multi-stall restrooms with a large, accessible stall and accessible sinks. There are no baby-changing facilities.

Seven days to “Fat Tuesday”(Mardi Gras), the last day of Carnival season.  An ad for “Big Daddy’s ” New Orleans Restaurant made me think of my visit to New Orleans and its fabulous food.  Of course, I needed to check it out.

We arrived to find a small parking area, with one accessible space, directly in front of the restaurant. If it’s full, there is street parking. On Friday and Saturday there is valet parking.

A street-level, single-door entrance led to a small entryway, and another door into the restaurant itself. The second door requires a sharp right turn, but it is doable even with a wheelchair.

We were greeted by an amiable young man  who led us to our table.  The restaurant was fairly quiet on a weekday lunchtime.  We were told that evening and weekends were much different.  Jazz brunch on Sundays and music in the evenings soundedreat to us.  After tasting our “Po-Boys,” and taking in the atmosphere, we could understand how crowded this place could get. Reservations are recommended.

The decor is very “New Orleans,” from the purple and gold color scheme, to the photos and artwork.  We loved it!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch while discussing when we would be back for the music and food. “Creole, Cajun, and a little bit of soul,” make for a great place.

Big Daddy’s seems to be a fun place with great food and nice servcice. We must get back here for the Sunday jazz brunch!  Check the website for special events and dining specials.
