Restaurant Joanina is an “…Italian restaurant in the heart of Huntington Village. From the rustic decor to our authentic wood burnng brick oven, we want nothing more than to make you feel at home,” says their website. They certainly did their best to make us feel at home. Delicious food and good service in a lively setting made for a lovely, unrushed, dinner with friends. From the salads, to the pasta, to the chicken with eggplant, and the fish, everything we ordered was excellent. They have an extensive wine list, which you can supplement with a purchase to take home, in their wine store next door. Our server was friendly and professional, making sure everything was to our liking and checking in to see how things were going. Restaurant Joanina is a delight! We will definitely be back!
Although located in the “heart of Huntington,” Joanina has a small parking lot out front, with one handicapped space. One needs to go to the end of the sidewalk to avoid a step up to the sidewalk. Once on the brick sidewalk, street-level, double doors lead to a small entryway and another set of doors. There is outdoor dining, under a tent, on the side of the building. The detailed, decor inside can make you feel as though you are in Italy. Tile is on the floors in each of the several dining areas. Tables have ample space between them. There is a full-height bar area with several high-top tables.
The single-occupancy, accessible restrooms are large. There are accessible sinks but no baby-changing facilities.
As always, we at Destination:Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.destinationaccesible.org">www.destinationaccesible.org, to “know before you go.”
