Description
KUMO Sushi is located at 18 Manetto Hill Plaza , Plainveiw, New York. Several handicapped parking spaces are located close to the restaurant and several are a bit farther. Passengers can be dropped off directly in front of the storefront restaurant as there is no step up from the parking lot to the sidewalk.The street level entrance is a heavy, single glass door, followed by another door. The restaurant is small, with banquets, tables and a sushi bar. Navigation can be a bit "tight."
The large, single-occupancy, accessible restrooms at the back of the restaurant are easy to get to.

We had not been to Kumo – Sushi, in Plainview in several years. When we had the opportunity to have lunch there, we took it. Happily, nothing has changed. KUMO is always delicious, the service always very friendly and attentive. In the past our only complaint was that they do not take reservations for less than six people, so you have to get there early. Not sure if that has changed or not.
There is plenty of parking in the large, paved lot. Some handicapped spaces are near the restaurant and some are closer to what used to be Fairway (now an office building). Passengers can easily be dropped off right in front of KUMO’s entrance as it is flat from the parking lot to sidewalk (no step up).
A heavy, single glass door, small entry area and another door take you to the hostess area. If you do have to wait you will find two benches here.
The restaurant is not spacious by any means, with banquets, tables and a sushi bar. The food, however, makes up for it. Sometimes there is seating available in the somewhat private “room” just behind the hostess area. If you are a wheelchair user it might be good to call and discuss seating in this space.
Kumo has a rather large, lunch menu, with many options. We usually order rolls, and have never been disappointed. We have always been happy in our dinners there as well. As my love of sushi extends to my love of ginger, I always ask for extra ginger. The server is always gracious and returns with a really nice portion! Our lunch on this last Wednesday of 2023 was no exception – everything and everyone was great!
Large, single-occupancy, accessible restrooms, located at the back of the dining area are easy to get to. The only problem for some may be the height of the lock for the door once you are inside. There is no baby-changing station.
