Otto’s Sea Grill, established in 1929, is the oldest restaurant on Freeport’s Nautical Mile. It suffered the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy and was completely renovated. On this beautiful day, we sat outside on the boardwalk deck overlooking the water, so I cannot review the main building.

The deck entrance is sidewalk level and there are tables and chairs in the sun and shade. The sidewalk is one step up from the street but there is a curb cut in front of the main entrance to the restaurant. Parking is either on the street or in Otto’s lot across Woodcleft Ave. The restrooms are accessible through the door into the main restaurant There is a slight lip at the entrance to the restroom.

The Nautical Mile is known for its bars and restaurants. On weekends the place is humming, but lunchtime on this day was quiet and lovely. We had a delicious lunch served by a friendly waiter. We were not rushed and were able to sit and view the boats going by.

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
