The Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory is located at 100 Breeders Hill Road, Barnstable, Massachusetts. Several handicapped parking spaces in a paved parking lot are available right next to the single door, street level entrance.A small reception area includes a single occupancy family bathroom.The self-guided tour is straight down a wide hallway with large windows that are low enough for easy wheelchair viewing. There is no seating available.
At the end of the hallway is a gift shop. The only foods available are the varieties of potato chips and popcorn they sell.

Wednesday of our week on Cape Cod brought rain so we looked for some indoor activities to do. The Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory was a great place to begin.
Located in an industrial area, we found a large, paved, lower parking lot with a ramp to the upper lot and entrance. A few handicapped parking spaces are available right next to the entrance. If these are filled, passengers can be dropped off at the entrance. Take note that tours are Monday through Friday only.
The single entrance brought us into a small reception area. We found a single occupancy family restroom right there.
The tour of the factory is self-guided, straight down a wide hallway with large windows that are low enough for easy wheelchair viewing.
Lots of information and trivia about potato chips line the walls (ex: Spuds in Space – The potato was the first vegetable to be grown in space). This company has grown from “a few people making 200 bags a day in a store front to…producing 350,000 bags a day.” (brochure) We watched batches of chips being cooked, divided and packaged. The aroma was enough to make us want them the way Cookie Monster wants cookies.
At the end of the tour there was, of course, a cute shop and free samples of the “Chip of the Day” that was being made. This was definitely a fun place to visit.
