Some time between appointments allowed me to stop for lunch at Ragazzi. I had been wanting to try it for quite awhile and this seemed to be the perfect time.
Accessible parking is available on both sides of the building. However, if you park in one of the accessible spots on the right side of the building beware that there is no curb cut to get to the sidewalk.You will need to walk in the parking lot to the front of the building. Park in one of the four accessible spaces on the left side of the building and there is a curb cut.
Once you are on the sidewalk and enter the street-level, double doors, you are in for a treat, both for your eyes and for your palette.
The inside is elegant, with linen tablecloths and napkins for lunch, and a decor that reminds one of Italy.
There is a large ,full-height bar and high-top tables in the lounge area. Even the tables here have linen tablecloths!
Seating throughout the restaurant is well-spaced, making for easy navigation This is a large space, with areas separated for large and small parties. Tables and armless chairs, ample booths and banquettes abound. There is also an area that is two steps up from the main dining area. Remember this when making a reservation.
As I said, the space is beautiful, and the food and service match it. Homemade pasta, creative and classic Italian fare, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, make sure there is something for everyone. The complimentary garlic knots and bruschetta were extraordinary. These touches, along with the delicious grilled chicken salad I had, made for a wonderful lunch. I almost forgot to mention the wonderful server who made sure I had enough of everything. Even though I was seated in a corner, she made sure to check on me several times.
There is a lovely outdoor patio area that makes you think you are not in a parking lot.

Located across the road from Smithhaven Mall, makes this venue even more attractive.
