Located in a small strip mall that one could easily pass by, is an inconspicuous Indian restaurant that should not be missed.
If you are looking for “fancy” this is not the place for you. But, if you want generous servings of delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, Clay Oven is definitely for you.
There are three accessible spaces in the large, paved lot. The street-level, single door entrance gets you right to the dining room. There could be more space between the tables to make navigation somewhat easier, but what they have is adequate. Tables can easily be moved.
Clay Oven is very informal, to say the least. Tables, armless chairs and banquettes abound. There is a large, sectional sofa to the right of the entrance. I’m not sure why, unless it is to keep patrons comfortable while they wait for a table, or to pick-up their take-out. We understand that everything is made “in house” and freshly prepared – if taking-out, they don’t make anything until you arrive.
I have to say that the quality of the food more than makes up for anything that may be lacking in the decor. Our Garlic Naan was exceptional, as was our Chicken Tikka Masala and Stuffed Eggplant.
There is a large, accessible, single-occupancy restroom in the rear of the dining room. It is too bad that the mirror is not low enough for a person in a wheelchair to use it.
We loved everything about Clay Oven and will happily return. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!
