A business lunch brought men to Texas Roadhouse, Selden for the first time. Rest assured, it won’t be my last. What a great experience!
I found six accessible parking spaces on the side of the building. The street-level, single door entrance led to a small foyer and a set of double doors that got me inside to the host/hostess desk.
As I looked around, I had to smile at the Texas themed decor. There is even saddle one can sit on (I assume it’s for kids!)
There is a full-height bar, as well as tables and booths. The majority of the seating is in booths, some of which require a step up. Make sure to tell the person seating you if you need seating that doesn’t require a step up (or anything else you need), and you will be accommodated. There is ample space to navigate throughout.
The venue is quite varied. It is billed as “ American with a Southwestern spin.” I can tell you about the variety of choices at our table, sirloin steak, grilled salmon, a burger, and three different salads, and all were delicious. Mention must be made of the unbelievable, fresh-baked rolls served with honey cinnamon butter! WOW!!! Take note that everything is made, in- house, from scratch.
We had several, lovely people serving us. They were friendly and professional, making sure that we had everything we needed and wanted. It is obvious that everyone here works really hard to make everything as good as it is. We even got to meet the owner, a lovely woman who takes great pride in her restaurant.
I can’t wait to bring my “better half” here for dinner. He will love it, and I will be happy to return!
Although this is technically a chain restaurant, we were told that each location is locally owned. We can’t speak about the others, but this one is great!
Multi-stall restrooms, each have a large, accessible stall. There is also a large, accessible, family restroom that is equipped with a baby-changing station.
We understand that this is a really popular place, so make sure to call and put your name on the waitlist before coming.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.texasroadhouse.com, to “know before you go.”
