Paris Baguette has come to Plainview. This global bakery, cafe chain, began in 1988 in South Korea. They came to the US In 2004. Today there are more than 4,000 worldwide, with 3,600 in South Korea and more than 100 in the US.
Their stated mission is “…to bring expertly crafted baked and bread goods to our guests, through a warm and welcoming bakery cafe experience that delivers joy to everyone.” Based on my first visit, I would say that they are achieving that mission.
The Plainview location, located in a large strip mall on South Oyster Bay Road has plenty of parking in the large parking lot. There are a good number of accessible spaces throughout. Street level, double doors take you into a beautiful, spacious venue that is easy to navigate. There is handsome tile work, with a great mix of vintage and modern accents.
Banquettes, plus well spaces tables and chairs are very inviting.
You can help yourself to the inviting array of interesting pastries in the cases. They seem to have everything from croissants and danishes, to cakes, breads and muffins. Everything looked delicious. It was hard to make a choice. When I finally decided on a blueberry and cheese danish, I was not disappointed. It was so good that I ended up bring home some croissants, and cookies for my better half.
Coffee is ordered at the counter in the rear. There is a nice variety of specialty coffees. My cappuccino was perfect! If you need help getting your order to the table, they seem to be very accommodating. I watched as they happily helped a woman get her order
to a table and helped her get settled.
Large, easily accessible, single occupancy restroom are located in the long hallway that passes by the glass window where you can watch the bakers doing their thing!
Take note that you can also access Paris Baguette through a single door from the parking lot behind the venue. I didn’t realize this until I went to the restroom.
This was my first visit to Paris Baguette. Unfortunately for my waistline, it won’t be my last.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.parisbaguette.com, when planning a visit to “know before you go.”
