On a relatively warm day for January, I met a friend at Sweetie Pie’s on Main. in Cold Spring Harbor. Being a weekday, street parking was readily available close by. If you cannot find street parking, there is always the municipal lot, just across the street.
Cold Spring Harbor is a quaint town, and Sweetie Pie’s fits right in. This small, welcoming cafe, located in one of the houses that have been turned into businesses, specializes in many varieties of organic coffee and tea, along with fresh, daily baked goods, sweets, soups, and some lunch items. It is a great place to relax for a bit. It’s a perfect place to meet someone.
A brick walk takes you to the street-level, single door entrance. Once inside, to the left is the room where you place your order. You can then get a seat across the hall in the dining room, or even go out the back door to the outdoor seating area (plastic windows give way to screens in warm weather). The door to the outside is not wide, nor is the deck. The dining room is not very large, but the tables have ample space between them for easy navigation.
One tea and one cappuccino were excellent. The foam on the cappuccino lasted all the way down to the bottom – I love that! The sweets and food served are all locally made – how nice!
The center hallway is where you will find the restroom. It’s a good size, single-occupancy, and accessible. The only problem might be turning from the somewhat narrow hallway you need to get there.
Once you visit Sweetie Pie’s you will definitely be back!
