Sawa Sushi

Sawa Sushi is located at 260 Jericho Tpke in Syosset. There is a paved parking lot in front with one  designated handicapped space. There are  two curb cuts up to the brick-paver walkway. Two benches are located in the front of the building. The very heavy, single door entry is level with the walkway, then there is a small entry space and another single door.

The floor is wood.  Tables and banquettes make up the seating. There is adequate space between tables. The sushi bar has stools and  is full-height

The large, single occupancy, handicapped accessible restrooms are located in a hallway to the right of the sushi bar.  There is no baby changing station.

We have been to Sawa Sushi for lunch (or dinner) on many occassions and it never disappoints. The food is good, the service lovely.

We park in the paved, parking lot in front which has one designated handicapped spot. Unfortunately, the street-level, single door is quite heavy. There is a small entry way and another single door (eaiser) leads directly into the dining area. The sushi bar is straight ahead and wide aisles lead to tables with chairs. Some tables along the walls have bench seating up against the wall. There is one special table in a window area. It is a great place for a cozy dinner for two. We feel lucky when we are able to sit there.

There are two, handicapped-accessible restrooms in the hallway. The ladies room is much easier to access than the men’s room.  There is no baby changing station.

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website,, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
