Book Revue is located on New York Ave. in Huntington. It is Long Island’s largest independent bookstore. It is an absolutely fabulous place. Besides selling both new and used books and other related materials, it hosts book signings and other events.
The store is family run and has been in Huntington since 1977. We are hoping it will be here forever.
After entering through the street level double doors, you are reminded of a time before Kindles and iPads. The wood shelves and tables are laden with books, writing materials, puzzles, and many more items for both adults and children. The aisles may be a little tight in some places but manueverability is basically good.
If needed, there is a single occupancy handicapped accessible restroom in the rear of the store. Ask one of the extremely nice salespeople at the front counter for the key. A staircase leads up to the mezzanine, but there is an old fashioned elevator if stairs are a problem. I think you have to ask someone to take you up.
If you need a break while shopping, stop for coffee at the cafe in the front of the store.
Of course Book Revue has wonderful books, but its events are the best anywhere. I have been to book signings with authors and celebrities you would never expect to find in the little village of Huntington. It is thrilling to have a book personalized and a picture taken with a person you admire. The authors love coming here. “No book signing equaled my experience at the Book Revue in Huntington,” said Neil Simon
We visit this gem for all our literary needs. We hope you will too.
